On May 9th, 2009 Ball State University announced they will be partaking in one the biggest eco-friendly projects in the schools history maybe the nation.
They are going geothermal. They will be creating the Nations largest closed geothermal energy system, benefiting both the economy and the environment.
This project will have immediate impact. Project “Green” will span over 5 years and will create jobs, manufacturers of supplies will see a boost in production.
This should save the University around 2 million dollars per year, replacing four aging coal burners.
This geothermal university- wide system will heat and cool 45 buildings and span over the 660 acre campus…
